
"Distributors just don't see these types of films unless your agent can call and say, 'They did really well at these festivals so please take a look,' " Metchik said. "This is part of that journey."
With all that the Amelia Island Film Festival has to offer, it's the people that you meet that really put it over the top, said filmmaker Tiffany Laufer
"The people here are so amazing and, as a filmmaker, having people open up to you is so important," she said. "That's what ensures the longevity of the festival and makes people want to come every year."
